New Boss Pedals for 2013

Post by luciguci »

Boss has three new pedals out TE-2 Tera Echo, DA-2 Adaptive Distortion, and MO-2 Multi Overtone. They also seem to have new knobs and brushed aluminum looking face plates.

$180 Tera Echo is a shimmery reverb/echo/arpeggiation effect that would do well in shoegaze and ambient stuff.
$160 Multi Overtone sounds like their take on a Micro POG with modulation.
$130 Adaptive Distortion is a bit more boring, but still pretty cool since it changes the gain and EQ according to what you're playing.

Here's what Boss says about each pedal:
DA-2: Adaptive Distortion

Perfect Distortion Tones in Every Register

Powered by Multi-Dimensional Processing technology (MDP), the DA-2 Adaptive Distortion delivers ideal distortion tones wherever you play on the guitar neck.
  • Next-generation BOSS compact pedal with innovative Multi-Dimensional Processing, realized with proprietary technology and custom DSP
Distortion that adapts to create the ideal sound in every register
Ultra-responsive to volume changes and playing dynamics
High-clarity sound, even when playing two or more notes at the same time
Very low noise, even with high-gain settings
Intuitive operation similar to standard distortion pedals

Powered by Multi-Dimensional Processing technology (MDP), the TE-2 Tera Echo produces a dynamic new stereo ambience effect that goes far beyond traditional delay and reverb.
  • Next-generation BOSS compact pedal with innovative Multi-Dimensional Processing, realized with proprietary technology and custom DSP
Rich, spacious echo and ambience effects
Dramatically enhances the direct tone, but never overwhelms it
Freeze function holds the ambient sound for lead backing and sound effects
Ultra-responsive to volume changes and playing dynamics
Wide range of sound adjustment with simple controls
    Mono/stereo input and output

MO-2: Multi Overtone

  • Next-generation BOSS compact pedal with innovative Multi-Dimensional Processing, realized with proprietary technology and custom DSP
Impressive, harmonically rich sounds that compliment and enhance your straight guitar sound
Works well with both clean and distorted guitar tones, and also bass guitar

Damn it. These demos are better though. The official Boss videos are just embarrassing.
