Jeez. I had that on my watch list as I've had half an eye open for a green Venus for a while. Not willing to pay that much though (especially with what looks like a pretty big dent).

There's a sunburst one on there as well at the moment. Interesting to see what that goes for.

Yeah, I've been watching them both too. Wouldn't pay more than £300 for one - unless it was maybe the green 12-string version.

It's at least a £300 guitar. If it said Fender on the headstock and sold for Jag-stang money it wouldn't feel at all out of place. It's full scale with a wide feeling nut width (43mm) and relatively chunky neck, so it's way different in feel to the MIJ guitars commonly talked about here but it's easily on par with the better of them for quality.

£680 seems a bit nuts, but then prices for MIJ Jags do lately, too.

I don't get the attraction, to me they look like an Epi coronetish body with Daisy Rock asthetics. The only way to make it uglyier is give it an antiga/mushroom burst finish.

Love the slightly melted look of the whole thing. Always have done. Also love the Courtney Love association because I'm not a cunt lol

The green ones are a bitch to find at a decent price. I see the black and sunburst ones all the time used at GC for less, but never the green. Great story behind Fender making those guitars.

I would kill a man for an Antigua Venus. Kill him by opening up my wallet and giving him lots of monies in exchange for said guitar.

Ebay prices seem to be down in the past year or two. I've been watching Fender Flames and Esprits for over 3 years. Used to get a project Flame or Esprit for $900 in seriously fucked up shape. A decent one ran you $1200. Now I see them not selling for $600 in good shape. But........ there are still those guys that list em for $1500 and they sit on the bay for months never selling.

I have a black 12-string. It was an "oops" purchase. I wanted to follow the eBay auction, and rather than click "watch" I bid the opening asking price of $600 US. Oops.
It is a great guitar, though. Super easy to play for a 12 string. And I love the Courtney association.

The sunburst one is stuck at £160 with about 30 minutes to go. I get that they're not as desirable as the green ones but that's a huge difference. Looks like the pickups and knobs have been swapped out so maybe that's also having an effect?

Haha. That's brilliant. Not a bad guitar to have bought accidentally though. I love mine.

Weren't the guys who made the Mercury going to start making them again? Think one of them started posting on OSG sometime last year.
