Question to the VM mustang and jaguar owners

What are your neck profiles like?
Mine is UNBELIEVABLY clubby and thick on my mustang. Not like most shorties I've played. Its noticeably clubbier than two strat necks that have the same specs other than scale. Might take a side shot for comparison. Any one else get one like that or did I get an unusual one?
It's a nice guitar though. Probably gonna keep the original pickups too. May eSee if anyone wants To trade for a chunky neck but i dunno, may get used to it

Mine is clubby, not a thing I normally go for but somehow it feels great, and really nice to play. Frets are great !!

Yeah frets are really nice. My one criticism is that they could have been slightly more rounded off at the edges

Wasn't it the 70's Stang necks that were clubby?

But they are nicely faceted though lol. I can't say that it is flesh rippin' like some other fret ends... which is what my biggest worry was.

yes they are! hate them.
like the fender classic series but a better profile.
check on ebay this guy, he has a lot of vintage shortscale necks for cheap money:

i think you can easely sell your VM neck.
i probably do that with the jaguar VM.

i think i will probably do that, or maybe look here for a trade or something. i've tried to get used to it but i just don't think i like it.

I don't know about the Stangs but I actually found the VM Jag neck amazingly comfortable. Less clubby than AVRI in my experience. I think I'm one of those weirdos who prefers a slightly flatter board.

hmm that's interesting
me and othomas and johnny noir in the eu both have clubby necks. most in the US i speak to say they have a nicer feel. i'm wondering if it was just chance batches or something got shipped out this way.

I'm sure all the VM Jaguars have the same profile. We're talking 2012/2013 Mass production here using CNC machines, not production over several decades like with Vintage instruments.
I wouldn't class my VM Jag as chunky, it's noticeably thinner than my '66 Jaguar, '72 Mustang and '65 RI Mustang neck I have on my DIY Duo-Sonic II. I like a clubby neck so I think I know what I'm playing when I play something.

I find modern SS necks are all pretty similar, in terms of profile and radius. The only difference that translates directly in a different neck action in CP, Blacktop, VM and Pawn Shop models seems to have to do with the finish and the quality of the hardware bolted onto them.
Edit: I'm talking Jaguar variants and the PS Stang here. No experience with the VM Mustangs.

Mines a bit thinner than a strat and quite comfortable in my hand

the '65 RI mustang necks are annoyingly thick IMO.
I've never seen a VM squire mustang in person, but if the neck is similar to the '65 vs the '69 I'd have to pass.

Strats have literally come in every neck profile Fender has ever offered at some point between 1954 and now.
