Ideal Future Pedalboard

Post by Gabriel »

Basically this is like a realistic dream pedalboard, rather than saying money is no option I was wondering if you could realistically put together your ideal pedalboard what would it be?

This is mine:

I'd love to replace my G3 with these two strymon pedals as they sound amazing (although serious money), I'd also really like the paraeq as it would allow me to seriously tweak the tone I get from my Polytone. The MBM Blackstone is my favourite overdrive pedal, it's a seriously awesome pedal. I'd also like a better volume pedal than the Bespeco one I'm using currently. The EHX freeze is just a cool pedal that I reckon I could find some use for and the Polytune mini looks ace.

SuperEgo after the POG keeps octaved drones going after the POG is bypassed, volume pedal after TurboRAT keeps the gain consistant, Pulsar to get that trippy rhythmic chop when the depth is turned up high, delay and reverb in stereo to go fucking wild. Maybe even a Dan Echo just before the Nova Repeater for analog delay goodness.

I'm pretty much there, and I've gone back to my old faithful setup... all I need it seems:

Out of interest, when money isn't so much of an issue, I would like to maybe try swapping out the boost and compressor:

Klon Clone or Zvex SHO //// Compressor- Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone or Keeley 4-knob Compressor

LPB1 and CS3 are great though, so might never happen !!

At the moment, there's only one other pedal I'd like and it's this -

If you're looking for a better compressor it might be worth giving your CS3 one of the Monte Allums mods. If you're interested I could loan you mine for a bit (when I don't need to use it) for you to see what the difference is.

I am interested in this mod, I would like to know which of the many CS3 mods he offers you got.

I think it's just the Opto Mod. I bought it on ebay already modded so don't know how it compares to the original.

Thanks for the offer johnny, will certainly bear that in mind !!

To be honest I don't really have any complaints about the original version... does what I want well. I even kinda dig the synthetic tone degradation lol.

Where in London do you live out of interest ?

cheers

i think on the whole i'm pretty much happy with just a boost and phaser and could take or leave a wah.

my ideal dream setup would be running a leslie in tandem with my amp, i love leslie cabs, pedals don't get close enough for me. after playing my guitar through real ones on a couple of occasions, i know that's what i'd go for.

so the pedal board would be at most:

my irreplaceable (believe me i've tired others) MBM Saltboost (though if mike could finish it like the copper bonamass fuzz face i would love him)>Dunlop Jerry Cantrell wah (or bonamassa wah)>Polytune>speed switch for leslie>ABY box> amp 1 with cab
> amp 2 with leslie

with a splash of reverb added at the mixing desk.
Fender Classic Player 60’s Stratocaster>East Coast T1 Tele>
Epiphone Les Paul SL>Ovation 12 String acoustic>Peavey Strat DIY Relic

Marshall Origin 20H>James’s old purple 2x10
Marshall MG10 Combo
