Fiting covers to non-covered pickups.

I'm about to take the hit on a pair of Bareknuckle Mother's Milk pickups for my Musicmaster => Duo-Sonic II project.
I've spoke to Tim at BKP and they are not able to make fully covered pickups but they do make flat profile, rather than staggered pole pieces if requested but Tim informs me that the pole pieces still protrude a little.
So my question is: Has anyone fitted fully covered pickup covers to a non mustang/d-sonic/m-master guitar?
Cheers,
Mike

They will be absolutely fine, just put them on, even if the pole pieces protrude it will be only a couple of mm at most and once under the pickguard you won't notice. Robroe has fitted robroe covers to pretty much every guitar he has had with no issues, including jamming single coil humbuckers under there.
Good choice on the mothers milks, I had Tim at BKP rewind my Jag neck pickup to MM specs a few years ago when they still did custom winds and it is a really great sound.

BKP will fit covers for you, they will even swap covers on a secondhand BKP for a small charge. I've tried fitting covers before but I ended up breaking the pickups...

Glad to hear you liked the Mother's Milk pups Thom. I have a few other BKP's in another guitar and they're fantastic so I'm really quite excited to get the next set.....
I've spoken with Tim and he said he can't do them fully covered.
I guess I'll take a chance on a set of covers and see I I can get them to fit - not the end of the world if I can't.

Sorry I thought you meant humbuckers, single coil covers are held in place by the pickup height screws (usually).

Ah, cool. No worries.
