Rogue, 7/8 size acoustic beginners guitar

Post by robert(original) »

i just picked one of these up from MF for 32 bucks shipped. the reviews seemed decent enough and if it really sucks i can work some magic to get it to my liking. just wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with one of these.
7/8scale? what the fuckis that? is it like a 22.5 scale or something similier?

Yeah, I'd say so.

alrighty, got the guitar yesterday. immediately ripped off the pickuard, put an i-hook in the neck, made a strap out of a computer case strap. then i tuned it.
pulled off the black truss rod cover.
not bad really. the tuners are failry junky open back n junk. i bought a nail file from the dollar store, gave the nut some love(no homo) and dig a lil work on the bridge saddles then i filed down the fret ends. the treble side was a bit raw.
found out the fretboard is plastic, pretty interesting, usually they are painted maple or cedar or something.
for 32 bucks, its perfect. i want to get a bit more indepth with the bridge and fretwork but i just don't have any tools handy. its a good lil player as it, but it could be better.
pics to come......

so i finally took a pic of the beast.
i immediately removed the pickguard, the truss rod cover, added a random metal band sticker to it, and then filed the fret ends down. i want to get some mega heavey strings for it and tune it down a couple of steps.
