It's definitely not Muff-y at all; it's more like the traditional fuzz sound without being excessive. The tone and gain controls have a really usable range and there's plenty of volume. I'm really digging the 'other' knob - this one's an unlabelled white prototype so I've no idea what it's called - that I think is a bias/texture control. Full up, I get the usual smooth woolly mush; below the two O clock point it starts to get raspy and 'strangled', needing a tweak of the tone control to keep the cutting Velcro noise; at nine it's all glitchy and gated, and right down there's nothing but splats and static.

It might even make it onto the recording project I'm trying to get wrapped up this month. Some of the settings will certainly be useful...I can't wait to see how the bass sounds through this thing!
