Well, this arrived yesterday just in time to lay down some guide tracks in the studio last night..... I bought this off Ben/Singlepickup24.
Guitar sounds great & the neck is lurvley.
Apologies for the Ipod picture quality, will take some better quality/gutshots over the weekend.
With one of my Jazzmasters.....

Am considering adding a bridge pup, although that will require routing.

Not this one sadly, I checked when it arrived. It does have mojo brass plates though.
According to this info
http://www.marcelroy.com/68_76/ Fender stopped routing out the bridge pup due to ending production of the Duo Sonic.

I agree. Don't cut into a vintage MM. Check to see if it was factory routed like a Duo, and only then get a new pickguard made for the bridge pickup and save the original.

When did they stop on the duo routes for MM's?
My '64 has both.

Up until at least 1969, all Musicmasters were. Sometime after the Duo Sonic II was discontinued, they stopped routing the Musicmaster bodies for the bridge pickup. I have no hard evidence on the exact date, but I don't think I've ever seen one later than '72-73 with the factory bridge pickup route in place. I had to have my '75 Music Master's body routed for the second pickup when I converted it to a Duo Sonic II... but my Music Master was in bad shape when I got it - stripped, and in dire need of restoration. I wouldn't have had the routing done (which was done at Fender by a Custom Shop master builder) if it had been as nice and clean as that one is.
That's a beautiful Music Master - congrats on the cool new acquisition.
