should i get a CV strat? do they have 1 w a functional trem?

Yeah, I'd say either a CV or a Deluxe Strat is good. The Squier Deluxe has a 2-point trem and rolled fretboard edges and the neck is fucking great. It feels like it was made for me. I prefer the 2-point trem to a vintage 6-screw trem.

Plus, it's fucking sonic blue (but it also comes in pearl white, or metallic olympic white, as I call it)

By all accounts they are great, but i have an affinity.
Trem works ridiculously well for what they cost. Just graphite the nut and string tree's then make sure the strings are stretched in.

I have this love-hate relationship with Strats - they're super-versatile and there are so many models to choose from that at least one of them is going to work perfectly for you.

Which is sort of the problem. I *know* there's 'my' Strat there in the line-up somewhere, but the sheer amount of choice is a little intimidating and I'm too lazy/self-conscious to try them out.

One that really stuck in my memory was a glittery blue 'un with a tort pickguard, a humbucker in the bridge and DiMarzios in the middle and neck position. The owner left it in the practice room we used to use, and our bassist thought it sounded awful. I gave it a quick clean, restrung it and felt really sorry to see the guy remember it was his and claim it back because it felt and sounded *just right*. I honestly can't remember if it was a Highway One or what, but if I saw another one for sale I'd snap it up.

my first guitar was a strat copy(epiphone starter pack) and i loved that guitar, i wish i still had it, the neck was the thinnest thing i have ever encountered in my life. literally vintage hagstrom thin, it was crazy.
but besides that i really can't stand them, i don't like they way they look, as far as sound. i like the bridge single coil thing, and some neck singles i like alot. the bridge isn't my style but i have had a few strat trem systems that i liked a bit and used them fairly regularly.
a long, long, long, long time ago i almost bought a big apple strat, black with red tort guard. i think it was about 300 bucks at hauer music in dayton ohio. i had worked my ass off for two summers and was about 2 inches away from buying it when i decided to get a bigger amp and a cool cat chorus pedal instead(the og cool cats are AMAZING!)
don't be ashamed for your love of the bastard guitar known as a stratocaster, many a guitar wanker agrees with you, just ask mr clapton.

As long as a strat isn't my only guitar, I love them to bits. In my experience, if they're my only guitar, I get grumpy because they're not a Jazzmaster or a tele. As a cross between the two, they're knockout for me.

But I need the tweak so that the second tone control also controls the bridge pickup.

So good I bought one twice. The '73 has been sleeping on the *couch* for the last couple of weeks, and it isn't that it did anything wrong ;) Just decided it needed an airing.

Luv Stratz.
I have a nice expensive one but a good Frankenstein is always fun and quick to slap together on an afternoon off.

I actually just bought a new 7.25'' radius neck for my protone strat. They're great guitars with so many models to choose from.

Sure double bound tele's look nicer, but strats feel good, and sound good. There are far worse guitars out there.

dude, yes. the way his guitar sounds like chimes is what made me want a strat, because of that bell-like tone. one thing that i don't get is that every time i see his guitar, it only has a volume knob and no switch. unless there's no switch tip and I'm not looking at it right. but that always confused me, since i can't see a pickup switch at all.

Well, my first guitar was a Stratocaster. The man in the shop said, that for a first electric guitar nothing is better than a Telecaster, and probably he was right, but I was stubborn (since I really liked Jimi Hendrix at the time) and I got a MIM Deluxe Strat. I know its not too good looking etc, but I really like
the sound of it and I love it as a guitar. I like the looks of strats (not mine,ha), and just how 'generic' they get..I have a Epiphone Casino, but I play my Strat much more!! I would like one with splittable coils !

Long Live Stratocaster !
