Its actually 28 1/2in scale.. I'm super curious about this. For $180 bucks i think it might be work getting. If nothing else as a project platform. Although i kinda dont mind it as-is. LANK

Neck looks way too fat and not proportional, do not like.

The whole thing looks retardedly fugly. But i kinda like that. I'd prolly tear it apart and customize the shit out of it. Where else can you get parts for a 5 string short scale bass for under 200 bucks?
I reviewed the Jaguar SS bass when it first came out - and it's a lot of bass for the money.
There's also the Ibanez Mikro, which is another 28.6" scale, and kind of reminds me of the one in the OP - but it's a 4 string, not a five string. The neck looks like it would be similar to the SR series Ibanez basses, which are quite narrow and pretty comfortable, even though they're full-scale / 34".
I've got an Ibanez 5 string. Their necks are awesome. I think a short scale 5 string would be really comfortable. I'm curious in how well the low b works on that short of a scale. If its functional I'm not so worried with how it looks. I'm over worrying about how much ass the looks of my instrument will pull in for me.

Ibanez makes a 5 string version of their mikro also.

If you're willing to tear it apart then get a SS Squier Jag Bass (or Mustang or whatever) and convert it to a 5 string.
