output jack question: from side to top - semi-hollow

y'all -

i hate the jack location on my epiphone dot studio. it's down on the bottom, and besides not owning any 90 degree cables and it being a pain in the ass to sit and play electrically, i would simply rather have it on the top.

PROBS:

the threads on the current jack that went into the shit plastic nubbin plate on the bottom side are too short to poke up through the old tone knob hole. cannot get a nut 'round.

is there a jack with longer threads? i've been to the main cool shops around town, and an electrical supply store, both looked at me like i had a dildo stuck to my forehead (which i do, but that's neither here nor there).

any idears? fanks.

you'll want a right angle plug with a top jack too.
