I hired Chris Jury, a great builder I know from the Electrical Audio Forum, to convert a Squier Bronco that I acquired for cheap to make this:

Image

He painted the headstock and pickguard, put GFS high output lipsticks in the original pickup position and in the new one he routed, wired in series, put new tuners and string trees in, a new nut, and a new bridge. It sounds great. I kind of want to re-write all my songs for baritone now!

Awesome! Squier 51 will match it nicely.

cool cool, how did he plug the og tuner holes? i ended up doing something similar for a guy (aen) on this forum a few years ago, but i used a jaguar body, and a bronco neck.

I'm not sure, but I'll find out.

Got the family out of the house this morning, put the baritone through a smallsound/bigsound mini od into my Traynor YSR-1, into a 2x12 and 2x15. This beast sounds enormous. I'm really happy with it.

Per PRFM Chris Jury: "Maple dowel- glued in, then sanded flush, then a mahogany veneer on the face."

Hopefully if I have time this summer I will do something similar to my Bronco, except I'd do a Bass VI and tune it E-E. It certainly won't look as nice as yours though. I do love that all black look you have, especially with the matching headstock. That just makes that bass freakin HAWT

The headstock is so big that I'd almost like to see one done with 3 on a side tuners.

I leave for awhile, come back, and see this. Makes me regret a little poutting in a Model One in my Bronco bass.

That is killer.
