What gets me is that it looks like a complete parts guitar... I'm not sure how many Japanese jaguar parts are actually on it.

The whole thing looks like a repainted white HH Classic player... pushed up trem / bridge... which he says he fitted.

Owned since 2004 ? They weren't made that early were they ??

Unless he's filled and re-routed the trem I doubt it's Japanese.

Then the serial number... is it MIJ or CIJ ? 93-94 or 02-04 ??

and then some of the american hardware wouldn't slot together with Japanese stuff would it ?? ... but would with CP I think...

And the headstock looks more CP to me as well...

I guess what throws this off is where he found the Japan serial number, that should probably indicate Japanese neck then...

ans get rid of the tape... SILLY !!

Anyways, it just doesn't add up to me... and someone will be disappointed.

That's what he's implying happened in his response to one of the bidders, which sounds really, really fucking odd to me.
I love the revised tremolo placement, don't get me wrong but modding a guitar in this fashion sounds fucking involved, considering the old solution to the break angle/string tension problem was a 20 dollar buzz-stop.

I really feel pretty strongly that this is a stock CP (possibly not even refinished, seeing as they did come in CAR, which is pretty much identical to his "Dakota") body, with a custom lead circuit plate, an aftermarket pickguard, possibly with a Avri/CIJ trem plate, and possibly a Japanese neck. I can't really tell the radius from the photos but it looks suspiciously flat to me. CP's headstock decal is gold with black outline, not the other way around.

It's a fucking mess, I wouldn't touch it. Pictures 3 and 5 don't match, one has the rollers, the other doesn't. Unless they were taken at different times etc, but it doesn't look like it. Defo Japanese neck; decal and serial number placing. They're on back of headstock on CP? Then surely a CP body? I don't follow him the last question re: the body, either.

i noticed the mixed pics right away, one with rollers, and one without, i think he is trying to take someones money and run with it or something.
i don't buy the description at all, seems way too dodgy

I think 3 and 5 were taken at different times due to the tape placement.

But still odd.

Dude got nearly $800 (£511.00 = $776) for it. Beats me why. Looks like a beater, put together from parts. Something you buy for a buck fifty to take to gigs in sketchy bars in the crap part of town.
