That's a fair few... I'm down to my minimal now... sold several in the last year or two.

I have a bed specially made to accommodate guitar cases / amps underneath.

Got '61 Jazzmaster / Fenix Tele tuned to B / Jim Cairnes Bass / Tanglewood TW47B acoustic, pedalboard case.

My Jag is in the living room along with my amp / pedalboard. Feels good to just have the necessities... especially in such a small flat.

I have about half my gear at my buddy's place, lots of other stuff in the crawl space, cases in a side closet, etc.

Can't wait to move.

I normally keep most of my guitars in cases next to my bed and three or four under the bed. I also have a few downstairs in our office/guest room with some of my amps. My Vox and Eighty-Five are at my desk with a two guitar stand with a Jazzmaster and Jaguar for easy access.

(Older pictures, but there are still guitars on the guest air mattress and I have more amps in there now. My Renown 212 is where that changing table used to be by my Twin.)

When I get them all out of there cases, it looks like this. (Different guitars now, but you get the idea of why I keep them stacked in their cases to save space and avoid damage. Especially with two little kids running around.)

My goal once my roommate moves out is to get a couple seven guitar floor stands to have my favorites out in the large room my roommate has. The others I hope to hang on the wall to display. I will also move my desk and amps in to there. It is a sort of bonus room above my garage and is about the same size as the master bedroom. Should be awesome! I hate how all my stuff is in three or four rooms at the moment and I don't have an indoor work bench that I can leave my projects out on while working on them. June will be when he moves out and I can get building my guitar room!

at my peak(around 30 or so) i had 24 or 25 wall hangers, and maybe 3 stands. i only ever had maybe 4 good cases in all my years and sometimes i don't even use those when i go to a gig, i would always use the case for my 86 malibu, but never for my j.s. since i always kept it on me. or within arms reach, i would even walked around the venue before the gig carrying it sometimes..... ahh the good ole days.
if i were to ever amass such a collection again i would go the wall hanger route again, but i would offset them so i could fit more in a smaller spot. altho i did always keep my avri jaguar in its case when i wasn't playing it.. usually hidden as well.

Aside from my patriot that is pictured on the floor (it isn't now), I try to keep my guitars off the floor. I know technically they are just things, but they are special things to me that I don't like seeing on the ground unless I am doing some pictures or something. The thought of them being stepped on by mistake makes my stomach turn. LOL

I started playing music more formally in elementary school. I started on clarinet because I wanted to play saxophone and it was a required starter instrument to get there. I was given my saxophone from my parents after using a rental clarinet. I used that saxophone from elementary school well in to college. I upgraded mouth pieces as I grew, but that saxophone is/was my one and only. I still have it. That is relevant because it is what I learned music and musical expression on and I have always had it around. It has some dents and dings from use, but I am very attached to it. I doubt I would play it again at this point, but I would never get rid of it. I am too attached to it. That patriot is the same really. I got it from a pawn shop in high school. I took guitar lessons using it. It has a messed up tuner I haven't repaired yet.

These intruments I feel connected to. They are the reason I try to treat all instruments with care because they could become that to me or for someone else if I end up selling or trading them.

My goal with my pile of guitars is to get a nice variety of stuff that is comfortable for me, sound good, and that I couldn't think of selling or trading. Once I hit that point, I think I will have a solid collection. I am kind of there honestly. I can't think of any guitar I am wanting to get rid of really. I like some more than others, but I honestly like ALL of the ones I have currently.

Anyways, I hope to have them displayed more proudly at some point. It is a shame for those pieces of art and music to sit in cases because I have no current way to display them. Total shame.
