Jag-stang smell

I decided to dig out my Jag-stang, and it still has its original new smell after 10 years. I can't get my head around it. It's been out and on stands in several houses, and gigged, and everything. I used to use it about 4 hours per day per week for about a year at one point, but it still smells like it did the day it arrived. Obvious sort of wood/metal smell, but it's as strong as it ever was. Anyone else experience the same? I'd also forgotten about how fantastic the neck, and neck pickup are. I'll blot the humbucker out of mind, though.

I've got the opposite. A mate of mine stunk up my jmjm fretboard, and the smell just won't go away. Tried lemon oil, all sort, and still nasty

Definitely not the case, and I do.

It's a soft case I've used with many other guitars. My Ric case honks (nicely) but it doesn't transfer the smell onto the guitar for long.

Haha, I'm not concerned, just curious to know if anyone else has the same, whether it's the '03/4 batch of CIJs.

Just smelly fingers I think. He doesn't smell as a peron, but every time we play, I notice the back of my (guitars) neck feels like a Jordan's been sliding it in between her mutton shutters.

My first acoustic was like that. The case and guitar still have this awesome "wood chip" smell. I just sold the guitar to one of my students and he commented it still smelled good.

My Jaguar smelled like horseshit when I got it, I'm glad it doesn't anymore.

Gibson LP still smells like vanilla boner, possibly the polishing compound going fresh into the case? My brother's '96 LP smells the same.

My Marshall cab made my room smell like a Guitar Center for 5 years.

the avri jag has a sweet and industrial smell to it. hard to explain.

the hh jag doesn't really smell like anything.

the best is my martin. it's like fresh cut spruce still. it lives in its case so i can preserve that as long as possible.

I bet the factory worker soaked the body in Chanel #5 for a week.
