Anyone want to refin my Jaguar for a reasonable price?

I'm probably picking up a 65 Jag for cheap on wednesday...
![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)
It is stripped and looks like this.
I don't want to mess with the headstock, so it won't be totally VINTAGE CORRECT. (no matching headstock).
For colors that work with tort I've been thinking LPB or black, possibly CAR.
Can anyone here do a nice thin nitro refin for not a whole lot of dineros?

I'll throw in a one off Devi Ever Hyperion or a vintage DOD 250 along with cash!

SHell pink would be cool.
Im considering just doing a walnut stain ALA the costello JM.

have a go at a nitro refin yourself, it's much easier to work with than acrylic or whatever as long as you do the prep.

Wow those are really nice. I am thinking that I'll try a costello type walnut stain, and if I dont like it, just nitro over it. Anything wrong with that?

Doesn't look that bad, after all.

Amazing find. Coffee table Jaguar.
What are you going to do with the pickups? I see the bridge is not a standard Jag pickup.

damn, that's nice. the Costello stain is quite a bit darker though, right?
how is the condition of the neck, was that redone at some point? (sounds like you think it may have originally had a painted headstock?) any idea what color it was originally?

I am usually all for paint, but I think yours looks nice and has a good aged patina. Of course if you want to change it do so, but it is nice how it is.

i generally hate stripped jaguars, but that is kinda cool looking. whats the deal with the tuners?
black is one of the hardest colors to paint, it likes to show swirl and sanding marks. and CAR takes a base coat of silver with layers of red on top. LPB may be your best bet. and if you don't want to do it yourself and no one here speaks up, try and automotive place. generally they charge 100-150.00 in my experiences, thick durable finish tho!

I may leave it as is or stain it, not sure. Trying to get the electronics working and possibly pay for a refret. Ugly massive frets on this bitch.
Neck finish is untouched, I was referring to if I painted it a custom color it wouldn't look like the originals as they had matching headstocks. THere is a drill hole all the way though the headstock above the high E tuner! Mojo?

The bridge was a strat pickup or some typer

, wood was filed a little so it fit at an angle. Not too bad. I have an SD antiquity in the mail.

im not sure if they are up for it per say, but dgner8 and rodvonbon have done some really good work in the past few years, and i guess cooterfinger is now a beast in the paint department. there are a few others who i have seen really good stuff from. lightrail, but he is in norway being a badass.
