Staytrem VI Bridges On Their Way

A guy over at Offset has been liaising with John at Staytrem about them making a Bass VI bridge. He received the prototype last week:

Looks pretty sweet and, if it's anything like their Jaguar/Jazzmaster one, it should work really well too.

fuck yes. I was wondering if they were actually going to come through on this!
I will definitely get a Bass VI now. The bridge was the only thing stopping me. You really need this 1 inch bridge base in order to get proper E-e intonation with the VI, and I intend on using it as a bass.

They should definitely consider using those flat-bottom saddles on the Jazzmaster/Jaguar version IMO. Looks like a solid bit of work, and not too different face-on.

I just installed the Staytrem bridge on my Custom Shop Bass VI tonight. It's perfect.
Install is simple, fit is great, saddles are machined beautifully, both resonance and sustain are increased, and accurate/correct intonation is easily achievable. Much like John's trem bar and collet, this bridge is simply yet smartly designed, even the Allen wrench has a unique machined end that makes seating it and adjusting post height simple and smooth. Only complaint I could see logging is the lack of saddle height adjustment but you specify radius upon ordering and it measures perfectly with a gauge on my 7.25" fretboard so no issues there for me, not really an essential feature on this instrument.

Never knew about these guys, tempted by a 9.5 correct radius bridge for my Squier jag but £65

That means there is one less thing to go out of adjustment or cause buzzes.
Would love to have a Bass VI, first incarnation, but have yet to see anyone make
a repro pickup surround for one.
Looks like a deeply drawn piece so it wouldn't be easy to make in stainless
so you'd have to go with chromed brass or steel.

It's worth it and far less than the Mastery on my JM. That's no knock on the Mastery, I LOVE that bridge but it's nice to not drop $160+ on a bridge, ugh.

I tried on on my jaguar, it was so awesome I bought 3 more and had 2 of my bridges modified by them for the post to no longer lower themselves (£20 instead of £65)

I want one of those bridges for my Squier Jag as well. The roller bridge i got to replace it works fine enough, but the lack of height adjustment is troublesome. I'm gonna have to save up for one of these now.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Jaguar/Jazzmaster Staytrem bridge. I wasn't one of those people who had massive issues with the stock bridge on my Jaguar. It didn't rattle, screws didn't work loose and I didn't have problems with strings jumping out of the grooves with the way I play (and using flatwound 12s). The Staytrem bridge, however, was still a big improvement. Really, really solid. My Jag sounds louder unplugged and sustain has increased. It still has the characteristics of a Jag (i.e. it hasn't suddenly started sustaining like a Les Paul) but just better. I've put 11s on it now and it's still super stable.
I was a bit worried about the lack of individual saddle height adjustment but the preset radius on the bridge I got has worked perfectly.
The tremolo upgrade they sell is really good too (assume it's compatible with the Squier VMs - probably best to check before ordering).
I don't work for Staytrem.

I honestly don't but just saw
this custom 12 string Jaguar/Jazzmaster bridge over at Offset and thought it worth a mention.

Stock bridge seems pretty good so far. Certainly not rattle off the bat. Might have to wait and see if the saddles lower themselves. If they don't can't see me getting a staytrem.
