Pickguard for Japanese Jaguar

I'm thinking of replacing my tortoise pickguard on my Lake Placid Japanese Jaguar. From what I've read there seems to be a problem with different sizes of American and Japanese models.

So would that pickguard here fit on my Jag? http://www.ebay.de/itm/NEW-Genuine-Fend ... 4d0c2b3985

The holes seem to be in the right positions.

Thanks for your input!

From experience I wouldn't buy anything that isn't advertised to fit a Japanese model - and even then it might not be a great fit. I have Mustangs, not Jaguars, but I understand the Japanese Mustangs are measured metric while the old US ones are imperial - I'm not sure if this is anything to do with the pickguards not fitting.

MAybe someone who knows Jags can tell you what you need, but it does clearly say in the auction 'only fits 62 made in USA Jaguars' so perhaps that answers your question :)

smokes is right, iirc. there are some slight variations in the screw locations between the different builds. with something as pricey as a guard, it's always a good idea to ask the seller as well.

Half the problem is most people who make them don't have a clue what they're selling. There's a Dutch seller on eBay that's pretty cheap and he normally has all sorts of guards up but avoid him at all costs. The guy is clueless and his guards are shit.

Try Cooterfinger of this very parish. He might have a template and his work is awesome.

You only have to buy one ill fitting guard to feel regret and wish you'd just got a custom made one in the first place! I'm now wondering for myself: are there any Shortscale members that cut pickguards in the UK?

I've heard paople say that the Allparts guards fit CIJ Jags. I don't know what, if any, differneces there are between the CIJ and MIJ jags.
