Thanks to Tim for the pedal. Chuffed to bits !! The beloved Micro Pog has made way for this....
It's magical though !! really interesting pedal... it's kept me entertained for most of the day trying to work out where the sweet spot is, and playing around with various combinations. It likes some of my pedals but not so much others... I find it wants to steal the limelight and be a recluse at the same time. I think it'd really change depending on your setup... and bring different qualities to the table as a result. Nice amount of low end grunt and hoards of high end sparkle, almost too much, it's quite hard to tame at times !! ... In a live mix though that'd come through really well. It's got that high end amp sound which I can't really describe: lofi / hifi mixed if that makes any sense... tons of character. Can't wait to try recording it with it too. You know you got a winner when you start playing stuff you never played before... new song ideas galore.
The guitar tones I'm getting from it right now on the settings shown above... are bang on this as a direct comparison...

It records perfectly. We are using it in the studio on all kinds of different songs. It cuts right through the mix. I love mine. The harmonics are amazing.

Thanks Noirie, it's really addictive.
I fancy installing singles in my jag again after using the Jazzy through it. Sounds better to my ears.. just enhances everything nicely.
Seems with the klon, you either go all out humbucker or go moderate output single. No in between, it gets a little confused.

mine arrived today
thoughts: tubescreamer 2.0.
midrange hump that can't be dialed out unless you're at minimal gain - i wouldn't call it a "clean boost" at all but you can set it up to bring your favourite tone out into a mix because of the fat mids. it works well with lots of pedals and settings in most orders. i think the pedal lacks definition at higher gain setting, turning slightly undefined and grainy. driving a nice tube amp i can imagine it sounds pretty amazing.
i have gain at zero, tone at about 2 o clock and output to boost and it seems to work very well bring any tone fully into the mix with a lot of string separation and clarity, and a touch more warmth

You're bang on with your assessment there George... definitely muddies up on the higher gain registers for me too. But I find what it does at the right setting very compelling, and interesting for the want of better words.

I was hoping this would replace my OCD clone but to be honest this has such a good use as a low gain cleanish boost that it has a new spot of its own. It works well with everything

I love my Klon but I wouldn't ever use it as a full dirt pedal. It sits on my board more or less at the end and is almost always on. I think of it as like part of the voicing of the amp that I use other pedals (MBM OCD/DLS, Dano Cool Cat Timmy, Grumbly Wolf, Dano Cool Cat Peach and a Fuzz Factory) to drive.
Love cascading dirt pedals. I have them all set up to be various shades of dirty and bassy/dark sounding (except the Fuzz Factory, which I've dialled to thick abrasive nutso fuzz and the Dano Peach which is synthy bassy fuzz). I only ever get compliments on my tone, but I sometimes wonder if it's a bit redundant having so many pedals on a board all aiming towards a similarish sound to each other but in slightly different ways. I doubt anyone listening could tell the difference between the different sounds and tones, but I like to think that I can and I suppose it gives me a wee bit of confidence that I'm using the "right" tone for a particular song.

i've just done what paul has suggested and put it at the end of the chain for a slight clean boost.
it's excellent, everything projects, sustains and sits better as an always on type thing
i also love cascading. all my pedals are set up this way: low gains but different flavours. it's where you get some incredibly usable sounds
