I NEED project ideas
So, yeah. It's summer and I have absolutely nothing to do. Pretty soon I'm going to start doing yardwork to build up funds but I have absolutely ZERO ideas. I'm wanting to just do something cheap and preferably fender/squire.

don't create a project for the sake of it. The reason to do one is to create something you can't find (or, sometimes, afford) otherwise. A project is a solution to a problem that otherwise doesn't have a simple solution either due to availability or cost. That goes for non-guitar projects, too. By trying to start a project without any idea of the purpose you're trying to create a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. The most important part of that is you won't have the necessary enthusiasm to follow it through and get the details right. It's quite likely that if you do finish whatever you build, it will sit unused because it wasn't ever required to begin with.
If you're looking for a way to spend some disposable income just pick up a good quality Squier that most suits your needs.

Shabba.
or maybe he just wants something to tinker with to occupy his time? I don't see what's wrong with asking for some ideas.James wrote:don't create a project for the sake of it. but off hand I can think of at least one place that has some great project ideas.... this Guitar Projects forum. take a look through some of the threads, there's bound to be something to inspire you.
I say this, but just two pickups on the pickguard, one behind the bridge, and piezo TOM like you said, to a separate output.mkt3000 wrote:6 pickup stereo Jag. 4 pickups on the pickguard, 1 between the bridge/trem, and a powerbridge to add acoustic toanz.
Two outputs on the chrome plate, one volume for main pickups, rhythm circuit activates 3rd bridge and piezo pickups, each little knob becomes volume for 3rd bridge and piezo.

Get a cheap pawnshop or CL guitar, like a Squier Bullet, gut it , paint it , rewire it ,make a pickguard for it. I like cheap parts , cheap things, there's less pressure, more fun that way . I like those 2 pickup Strat mods because they resemble the now very much more expensive Mustang /Bronco /Duo sonic things.
That's basically what I want to do with a red Squier Mini Strat. In the end, I'm probably going to end up just wiring in a three way switch (and new pots)putting white tape over the middle pickup hole and but some black robroes on the neck and bridge pickups. Hmm, maybe I can convince my old friend to give me his mini Strat... I doubt he ever plays it.61fury wrote:Get a cheap pawnshop or CL guitar, like a Squier Bullet, gut it , paint it , rewire it ,make a pickguard for it.
