(I got it on tuesday technically but have had little spare time to post this)
So I tried some small amps out in London last week on people's suggestions in my last thread and the original excelsior was the one I ended up having the most fun with. I had budgeted on spending more so I thought I would treat myself to the pro version and maybe have enough for the parts to build a DLS clone.
The speaker seems to make a big difference in volume from the original and sounds pretty nice. I'm awful at verbalising how stuff sounds but it has a 'mostly clean' tone which is great for playing light Neil Young or surfy garage stuff. It takes pedals well too but fuzz boxes are a bit shrill on the 'bright' setting.
