They don't say explicitly but this line on the site:Ro S wrote:Nice. I have been GASing for one of these in a while. Nice vintage sounds.
p.s. which "classic circuit" is it based on? Maestro? Superfuzz?
'The Catalinbread Merkin is a fuzz pedal that's just rite for classic sixties fuzz sounds and beyond!'
The 'rite' there pulls a strong hint to it being a fuzzrite style pedal.

So, basically, it's a beefed up Fuzzrite?mike fried wrote:The Merkin is essentially a Fuzzrite with an added gain stage post-fuzz. A few coupling cap values are adjusted (somewhat more bottom end is available), but the end result is a more versatile Fuzzrite.
I've never played an original fuzzrite so i can't really draw a comparison.

That's a good description of it. Its extra output stage provides slighty higher output and more predicable results when using with other pedals.Freethenoise wrote:So, basically, it's a beefed up Fuzzrite?mike fried wrote:The Merkin is essentially a Fuzzrite with an added gain stage post-fuzz.
