MXR Prime Distortion

Post by Noirie. »

Just ordered one of these and it should be with me tomorrow sometime.

It's meant to be a 80's hair metal type pedal, which is a sound I quite like when used with a Jag. Sounds like a high gain Rat in the demo's I've seen.

That sounds pretty good, although a touch bright for my taste. Let us know your thoughts when it's arrived.

the guitar center near me had a whole stack of these things priced at aboit forty bucks, i tried one for a moment, it was good, but i dint care for it at all. I used a squier cv tele into a roland micro cube, i set the amp to a nice balanced clean sound and when i clicked on the pedal it instantly sounded like my signal was being thrown into a carboard box, comlressed high trebly nonsense, i fiddled with the amp sound and got a"usable" sound but then when i turned the pedal off my clean sound was crap. So, for me, it seemed like the worlds most useless pedal i have ever encountered.
