With the new dot and bound neck I bought for my jag, I will be using the neck I saved from ebay to complete a mustang (of which the body I also bought from punk). Plans for the pickups are gfs fat body tele bridge in the bridge and neck, I have to do some routing to make them fit, still trying to decide on mustang switches or a 3 way (body is already routed for a 3 way).
Pics to date...

Got tired of waiting, decided to string it up and hack wire it.
Do an mod.
Plays pretty good, thought keeping pickup height adjusted is a bit of a struggle.

Progress basically stops here for a while, I have to wait for tuners to arrive in May and find some money for a mustang bridge

I would honestly go TOM, because you don't have a tremolo anyway and it would i think feel right with the modded nature. Literally one of my dream instruments, only mine would have been LPB.

TOM means you need shimming the neck or route neck pocket under a certain angle.
I had been doing my Duo Sonic style project with TOM for last 2 years. It only missed neck pocket routing and there wasn't drilled the holes for tunamatic. The neck I built from scratch myself apart from rosewood fretboard, bought it at Stewmac (24.75"), fretted myself, leveled, polished frets. Everything did in my kitchen. Got fed up. Burnt it two weeks ago. Feel released
P.S. Still have the templates I made, so maybe later

Came upon some cash, bridge procured, tuners, but and setup she'll be golden. Might use some temporary tuners when the bridge arrives to get the setup and nut dialed in, then switch the tuners when they arrive.

waiting for the white button tuners to arrive, but basically done, plays pretty good, the neck has a bit of a bow so i had to do some shimming in the pocket. surprisingly this neck is birds eye maple, i guess cbs still had some quality wood left.

One of the best looking guitars I've seen in years. HMU if you ever sell that thing. Magic.

You should post a group shot of your nice vintage sunburst fender mutants with black pickguards
