8 string Cooter-Mando

This project is jut the basic concept at the moment - I'm unsure the EXACT final form.
I need a decent 8 string electric mando for quiet practice. Cooterfinger has kindly agreed to make one for me in the future.
It'll probably end up being the usual Fender mando style but with 8 strings HOWEVER, as I have time to play with it I will be investigating other ideas. I was dicking about with this the other day for giggles:

That looks great, would have to see the mustang style with a proper electric mando bridge though to get a proper idea of how it'll look.

Thanks Gabe - I think if I seriously do this idea I would probably simulate the Stang trem plate shape - either custom cut it to take the saddles, or simply a 'surround' that goes around the standard 4 saddle e-Mando bridges.

I thought about doing something similar, using a 4 string bridge and adding threaded jazzmaster style saddles and drilling some holes.

Love it
I wouldn't angle the bridge pickup that way, however... probably a better idea to go the other way or straight for better balance and fewer ice picks.

That's the standard sunburst on a Coronado.
Here is my personal one and the black has faded off.
