So ive had this 69 reissue for some time now. the girl needs a makeover.. its the sonic blue with tort pickguard ( which will be changed this week into a self reliced mint green pickguard) anyways i want to paint my headstock to match the body
How feasible would the this task be? i dont have any expierience with painting or refinishing but its only a small thing of wood how hard can it be? please INPUT WOULD BE HELPFUL!!

I like black headstocks and I don't particularly care about logos, so that is a pretty easy job. Take the neck off, cover up with tape and newspaper everything you are not painting rough up the finish with stand paper, paint then a couple of layers of clear coat giving it plenty of time to dry.
If you want a matched headstock then I totally agree with Steve, very hard to do unless you are refinishing the body as well because there are lots of variables.
