I wish they would import more Japan RI's into the states. I have a 62 Tele, and 62 Strat from Japan and they are far superior to the Classic series from Mexico.

Partially agree but there's more variability in the MIM Classic series than the MIJ/CIJ '57/'62s, I feel. Some of them are awesome and some are far less so. I actually think the Classic 70s Strats (similar to this one) are the nicest of the Mexican RI bunch, what a neck they have.

The 70s RI from Mexico are good. I have a 72 RI Tele Deluxe from Mexico that I actually use as my mine guitar for our band and it is ridiculously nice. I have 60s RI Mexico neck on a Strat body and I can't get the thing to stay in tune or intonate right. Which is strange considering I have a Mexican standard neck on my Cobain Vandalism copy that plays like butter.

MIM 60s RI necks are my favorite.

this is a beautiful guitar.
i almost always prefer the look of a dark wood neck, but the maple looks just great here with the banana-cream yellow and the white guard.
i would actually be tempted to buy one of these, but i'm not sure what Stratocaster is right for me (if there is one).
