Some days i shot a squier body on ebay which was quite cheap (i think because of the burnt finish), so i thought, it should be able to build a guitar with less than 100€. So i took the body, a P90 and a fender american standard tremolo out of my partsbox. Bought a neck, a pickguard and hardware from ebay and was at 96€.

So here's my Burntstrat. The body was finished so when i bought it. It was burnt with a blowtorch and finished with shellac. It feels very good!!!

Nice job. I like it. Reminds me of the "barncaster" builds you see on some of the other forums.

The decal is shitty faked, so i'm thinking about burning the headstock, too. What do you think? Could this look cool?

Back in wood shop class, we used to scorch pine with a blow torch. Sand it back just a bit and it looked really good.

Dude who did that finish, had no clue what the hell he was doing. He needs to go back to 6th grade.

You mean he wanted to do a consistent finish? Then he failed. But it looks and feels good stained...

I kinda like it. A burnt in leopard print might be quite groovey. Perhaps a slight amber tint on top?

Love that, bet it sounds like a motherfucker with that P90. Nice choice with the blackguard... sweet bridge too, roller saddles?

thanks, don't ask for the saddles... I just had to have a look... It's a fixed tremolobridge from a '93 fender american standard strat.

What about a black headstock to match the pickguard instead of a burnt headstock.
That way you can use the neck for something else later on if you ever need to.
