Gold Mustang control plate

Post by taylornutt »

All Parts is clearing these out. I can't imagine why I would need one but for the price it might be worth it.

You can buy a chrome plate on eBay for about $9 I think.
Thin gold plating can be removed with metal polish - gold needs to be under-plated with copper then nickel or chrome, and it's softer than chrome.

I kinda wanna buy it for the rarity. But ekk, gold hardware. Once it wears it looks like a shit necklace at a pawn shop. Black hardware too. Fuck that.
Congratulations! Your Punkacc9 evolved into Awstin.

Yep, I used nevr-dull to remove gold plating on some pickups once. I used a scouring pad to give it kind of a brushed nickel look, but you could probably use a rag and it would be shiny.
