two videos added. first is just me messing around with a riff and various effects. other video is a general going over of the various tones the sg has. I don't say much, but whatever. Enjoy.

I like the first one, kind of like reggae but not exactly. Would sound good with a drum machine.

I always enjoy your demos and approach to guitar. Sounds good.

It really is a great guitar, still pondering myself.

Thanks guys. Means a lot. This SG was a tricky buy for me, but it worked out. I never liked Gibsons as a youngster. I did admire the SG shape though and wanted one, but heard so many horror stories about neck dive and floppy necks. I haven't experienced either of these phenomenon with this SG. I ordered this on a whim after trying a white one at the local Long & McQuade (Canada's big music shop). I brought it home without trying it, because there were too many people in store trying out metal axes and Mesas on blast, so I just took it home, opened the box and had a huge sigh of relief when I saw how beautiful it was. The set up was ACE. I lucked out. I still hear horror stories, but this one is perfect.
The neck is slim, but not as slim as a Hagstrom neck.
The 57 Classic pickups are very good. I'm not a humbucker guy, but these are nice and clear and not at all muddy. 300K pots and no circuit board. Old school wiring.
Anyhow.
I recommend the SG Standard 2013. Try one. It may be your next axe.
