Actually, thinking about inflation, I'm not sure if it is all that much more expensive. The originals were going for £99 toward the end, down from the standard £129-£149. With around 5-6 years between them and a 3% VAT increase as well it probably works out.
I didn't like these based on looks, then I picked one up from a Crack Converters because i knew I could flip it and double my money. It was a really good guitar and if you like chunky necks you must try one.

The blonde one is hot, I much prefer that color to the blonde on the old model. But the sunburst one looks exactly the same If they're not really any different, I see no reason to buy one new since you can still get old ones for half the price. Still a fantastic guitar for the price, though.
