Was my thought when this came up on my YT feed. Pretty uninteresting amps.

I would buy a Mustang or Excelsior amp before I would buy that.

yeah with mustangs on the market i don't see the point in this one bit
at least the Champ XD range has a certain different flavour: tube preamp> digital modelling > tube power section
i don't get why people would want a stinky little solid state like the dark ages now

In third world countries, mostly gigs/concerts are using solid state amps.

If my guess that these are mostly aimed at beginners is true, I'm a bit baffled that they didn't play any kind of music that would appeal to younger crowds in the demo.
Everything sounded like eighties wank-rock!

'We need to demonstrate this tremolo sound; let's have Mr AntsInPants play a totally erratic bit of fingerstyle using this time-based effect, set tooooooo...the deepest depth setting known to man.
Good work, everybody"

1) it's cheaper (or should be) than a modeling amp
2) maybe some people prefer an analog sound, though I guess it doesn't matter for the typical entry level buyer
that's basically the revamped Frontman range isn't it. Those big, cheap solid state amps were not that bad. If you are a kid that wants something loud and clean.

Both have a 12" speaker. There's just so much more for your money with the Mustang. Loud and clean is just as achievable also. And the tones in that video are demonstrably crap.

Not only, there's a lot of Hendrixy stuff and 70s hard rock. What did you expect, dubstep metalcore? Mars Bruno?

it needs to be a staccato high register picked arpeggi-riff on a telecaster with lots of delay like Foals to appeal to the kids of today
or grindcore that is heavy on the mids
or just good in any way, which this wasn't
