I've been on the search for my perfect fuzz for a while now. I thought I'd solved it with my Rotosound Vintage Fuzz, which sounds amazing on record but doesn't quite cut it live as it just gets lost in the mix. I asked Ian at Ghost Effects to build me a Tonebender MK 1 clone with extra volume, a tone pot and an AC out and IT IS FUCKING ACE!

So chuffed with it, the build quality is amazing and his customer service has been top notch. Highly recommended!

I think my set up is now about complete and looks like: Gordon Smith GS1 -> Ghostbender -> Vox Wah -> Boss Space Echo -> MXR Phase 90 ->Fredric Effects Tremolo -> Carlsbro 50 Top head -> Orange PPC410 cab

I love Ian's work it always looks good on the inside and sounds great. He certainly knows his tone benders :)

Have you got a vintage 50 Top or reissue? I had a 1969 grey version and it sounded ace.

Mines an early 70s one - the guy who does all my amp work (used to work for Matamp back in't day and now lives in my tiny little mill town) reckons it's a 72/73. Such an amazing amp for the money, got it off a local hardcore band for £250. I drive mine pretty hard and it breaks up so nicely
