my buddy just picked one of these up, i know the pots need a good cleaning, but besides that i did a bit of looking around on the webz and it seems that these are just really simply solid state amps with 2 channels... well sorta 2 channels more like one with a boost, anywho. Im glad he ditched the line 6 P.O.S. he was using.
anyone have any exp with these? anything to look out for? seems like it would be easy as all hell to mod, and they seem to sell for 350 or so used(he paid about 200) so if it completely sucks i could convince him to sell it for something better. He says he likes it, but thats in living room jam style, it hasn't gone up against the rest of the bands sound yet.

I've got one, pretty solid amp, watch out for the gain/boost going out though (mine did). But for clean tones and any dirt pedal I've put in front of it, there are really no complaints. Definitely one of the few solid states worth using. If your bud is worried about any issues I would take it to someone who does servicing for a tune up. Also, try to get the 4x10 cab Marshall made for it but good luck cause I'm still searching.
