I talked to a guy at Sweetwater that says they're being discontinued, so they're $579 instead of the $799. Anyway, I had to get one at that price, since I've always wanted one, and even at $799 they were tempting for me. I told them to give me the lightest sonic blue Jaguarillo they had in stock and they found a 7 lb 6 oz guitar for me. I'll have one by next week. I sold a couple guitars to make room/cash for it.
I'm probably swapping out the Tune-O-Matic for a Mustang/Staytrem/Mastery bridge because Tune-O-Matic is just not my style.

i have seen a couple of these but never got a chance to play one, i think they look pretty b'dass minus the lack of a proper decal on the headstock.

If these are being discontinued then we should see similar deals over here. At least we did with the Marauder, MIJ PS Mustangs, PS 51s etc.

Why are you glad? You have a warehouse full of them?

Would these drop right in?

You have to get the Tune-O-Matic posts out and then Mustang posts in. It doesn't seem like a complicated procedure and the Mastery Bridge folk say that it's a very easy procedure. I think I saw a post on Offset about people who did that to a Classic Player. I'm hoping the Jaguarillo is the same story, and it looks like it, since it looks like a standard 6mm Tune-O-Matic. The Kurt Cobain Mustang is another story as it is an ABR style Tune-O-Matic.

Luckily they didn't angle the bridge too much, so it might not be too hard.
Another cool mod would be to put in a Jaguar selector so you can get all the pickup combinations.
On the other hand, it still seems kind of expensive, maybe too expensive to do mods.

I just don't really see the problem with TOMs at all. I certainly would never replace a TOM with a Jaguar bridge. That seems a bit perverse.

Honey,
I look forward to your review yours are always insightful and detailed. Over on OSG the sound is referenced to a Strat. Sonic blue would've been my choice as well.
Congrats!

First of all, most of them aren't radiused properly and I just don't think they're the best bridges to use for a vibrato tailpiece. In any case, I just got mine and I'll give the stock config a go before I replace anything.

Very good looking guitar! Happy NGD and do a demo please. I'm still watching your demo of Lennon Casino from time to time.

I gotta say, the Jaguarillo looks to me like somebody at Fender designed a custom guitar specifically for *you*. Looking forward to a Blondie / Pixies demo.
