About two weeks ago I picked up an MIJ Fender Sidekick 35R of craigslist for $30 - it's a really nice sounding transistor amp. It came without a speaker, so I threw an old Utah 16ohm speaker in it, and its definitely in the territory of the clean sound I used to get from my DRRI. I'm going to try to do a demo soon, but I was wondering if anyone else has one of these, and knows the impedance of the amp. I'm guessing it's 8ohm, but I've got a 16ohm speaker in it right now.

That sounds surprisingly good. Nice breakup tonez.

Yeah, I was fairly surprised by how responsive the amp could be. It has a channel volume, gain, and master volume, and when tweaked just right, it does a fairly decent job of emulating some tube breakup.

I had one of those for my first proper guitar amp about 25 years ago. Not a bad amp at all. I'm guessing the proper impedence is 8 ohms. I'm not sure I know of a 1x12 Fender that isn't.

thanks! I've got an 8ohm speaker somewhere that I'm going to pop into it.
