Anyone tried the recent Mex-made Charvel Pro Mod Series ?

Thinking about getting something like this, as it would be nice to have a guitar purely based on performance.. and I'm generally quite into my 80s things too.

I heard they used to be made in Japan but since the Tsunami production has uncontrollably ceased. Shame !!

Are they on par with those or worth finding an older Japanese variant ?

Anyways, be interested to hear your verdicts... might even consider getting them into the shop I work at, as they're supplied (& possibly made ?) by Fender (Mexico)

my buddy in Milwaukee had a charvel acoustic, great guitar. i have never encountered one that was crap.

a good friend of mine only rocks charvel's
they aren't my scene, but if I had to go back to playing a "super-strat" it'd probably be one of them.

solidly built guitars, and amazing sound, even stock.

sadly the only audio/video i have of him rocking it is a shitty iPhone video from their gig the other night..

However, you can hear it quite well on their studio tracks..
