I always thought that they came in both 22" and 24" (21 and 22 frets respectively), with the 22" being the more rare.
Vintage and Modern is a nice shop, but as you can see from the ad, their prices are stratospheric.

24 is the standard, not rare at all, the 22.5 is pretty rare tho.

Ah, just me being dumb and remembering my numbers incorrectly. Thanks for clearing that up.

i could be wrong on this but i want to say that the first mustangs used duo/musicmaster necks. i have only ever seen 1 22.5 scale mustang irl. the rest have been on here, i think james or someone had a red one, and i remember aug had an oly white one.

That price is laughable. You could get a '65 Jag for that.

Yes,I think all the 1964 Mustangs had a 22.5 neck and they changed to 24 necks early in 1965.
This is a a "64 with 22.5 inch A neck(white) and my "65 with 24 inch Bneck(red) for comparison

i'm not sure about the "all '64 necks were 22.5" thing, i think some 24" '64 mustang necks exist... but i could be wrong.
my duo II is a '64 and has a 24" neck, and i've seen others. not sure why they'd put them on MMs and duos but not mustangs when they were all released at the same time.

Yes,I should have said "most" instead of "all". According to the Fender Mustand Story website:
"Most '64 Mustangs appear to be shipped with short scale length necks with "A" neck widths (1-1/2")"

I don't think most people dig the three-piece body being visible, but I love that.
