I have a Rocktek Chorus, it was about £8 new. Its quite decent but a bit noisy in bypass mode

Edit: Having watched the video, the guy is clearly a tosser. It does not sound dissimilar to the distorted sounds of many a great band to be fair.

i thought it sounded alright, and lol if that's a $2600 amp because the clean sounded terrible

The commentary was hilarious, but it really didn't sound that bad. Should have demo-ed a DS-1 or Distortion +.

In fact sounds better than the actual Pro Guitar Shop demo of the Distortion Plus.

I thought this pedal sounded as good as my DOD Grunge, which is AMAZING at mangling vocals.

This was one of my first pedals, will get one again if I ever come across one. Don't remember it being too bad, but wasn't too fussy back then. Noise was noise.

Both the vintage and the Dunlop reissue Distortion+ sound great. The reissue is fizzier, and actually closer to the sound of this Rocktek thing, but for a heavy-on-the-treble fuzz or a crunchy 80s alt/metal sound the D+ excels. The original can also do a decent impression of an overdrive.

Ha! Its quite a deep lush Chorus imo, it just bleeds through a little in bypass mode, which is a big shame. Having said that, my Boss CE-3 is a noisy bastard, much to the annoyance of my band mates.

I dunno, these pedals just seem fun to me and remind me of a time when folk got on with playing instead of competing with gear. I know its a joke demo but you get what you pay for so in context its quite difficult to pick fault with them.

Nearly posted this several times.
Tell you what as well, in the unlikely event that I get in a well known band, that will be my rig. Its my dream to be interviewed by Total Guitar magazine and tell them tone is in the Chocolate Fingers and all you need is Marlin, Rocktec and Gorilla. The Tone Nazis would be on me straight away and the industry would cast me adrift for not helping them sell their overpriced shit to teenagers.
Truth is, good equipment makes mediocre musicians sound half decent.

I like the idea of fish inlays on a guitar, the gorilla portrait on the amps is cool too. Fender are too chicken to put horses and jaguars on their guitars.

But you can't win. Remember when Eddie Van Halen appeared on the cover of a guitar magazine with a Teisco? The price of those simply shot skyward after that. If you become famous people will just want the Fran model Marlin guitar and Gorilla amp, and the Rocktek will be the the new Sovtek Big Muff. Prices will simply go up.

Joking aside anything is possible, I remember a time when you couldn't give an old Tubescreamer away, never mind sell one for £100. Most Fuzz pedals were the same.

And those awful black 90s muffs, now apparently sought-after.
