I used to use a bespeco one that was fairly decent, that's about the cheapest you can go. I'm now using a Morley mini volume which is even better, I had to adjust the leds in it to get the taper I wanted, but that was an easy job.

I really like my Ernie Ball Volume Jr.
Billet Aluminum + griptape feel, no wah pedal duh-duh-duh in increments, and decently priced on the used market. Doing just fine after 6+ years now.

There used to be a GuitarTech one that I liked the look of that had min and max volume level pots, with a passive boost at the highest level. It seems to have been discontinued but I've spotted an Artec one that is identical (probably the same pedal, in fact).

Bought a bespeco just to see if I use it as much as I think, then I might trade up if I do.

Thats exactly what I did. The bespeco one does the job pretty well too so you may not even need to upgrade, I only did as I bought a pedaltrain mini and wanted a volume that would fit on that.

Is the plastic tough enough to survive live use?

Those look great, but apparently you can't get the volume down to zero when the pedal is fully 'open'

+1 for the Ernie Ball VP Jr. Great pedal, does the job. I do NOT use the tuner out, nor have i ever. Not for any reason (i just keep my tuner in line) but apparently people complain about using it or something. Cant help you there ha
