Bach LP Double Cutaway

Post by Golden_Sonic »

Has anyone tried this Les Paul doublecut copy? It seems a good guitar, and it is not so expensive...

I think it is a protective plastic sheet against scratches...

I wish I had a proper answer, but no, never played one. I've seen a couple on sale on out local craigslisty-thing, but never tried one out myself. I think they're made in Czech Rep? How much are they asking?

All these today's LP Junior copies may not be bad guitars, but there are some things you should know. First of all pickups, they will definitely sound like shit. They will be able to do some hard core stuff, but forget about good cleans or mellow bluesy tones. If you want you can replace them with some famous alternative like Fralins or Lollars, but they alone will cost like this guitar . Then tuners may be good, but frequently they are some really cheap ones, and there will be necessity to change them. Then I bet that after some period of time you will decide that stock wraparound bridge is shit and you need something that intonates well. There are two options, first is to buy Chinese copy of Leo Quan Badass bridge, the second is to buy something expensive like TonePro's or Pig Tail. First option gives you bridge with sharp edges and it is VERY tall, if neck angle to body is not very big, then forget about low action. The second option will cost you about $100 without shipping and I really doubt that they are any better than usual tune-o-matic. Further, you might be not satisfied with neck profile, it can be too chunky or vice a versa too thin to your taste. After modding the whole guitar with new pickups, new tuners and new bridge it will cost cheaper than used Gibson LP Junior(single cut version), but not much. And after all mods you will have a guitar that still feels cheap. And don't forget that all LP and SG style guitars with mahogany necks feel themselves protected only inside hardshell cases, it means again extra spendings.

I seriously doubt it. It's just a Czech company, there's another called Fokus which has Korean guitars.
