So based on the Xmas gifts thread, seems like both brandonwinmill and myself are in the market for expression pedals to go with our Christmas pedals; EHX Ravish Sitar in his case; Vox Delaylab in mine.

So basically the question is what the is story with these things? I've never even had a wah before and I'm not sure what I'm looking for. How do you know what will work with what, what are the features to look out for, why are some more expensive than others, basically what criteria should I be looking at to pick one?

Just get a Roland EV5 - light but sturdy, just works.

Find out the pot value and the polarity of the expression pedal the company recommends for your pedal, rather than just grabbing anything; the pedal is expecting a certain type of signal, so you can't feed it any old bollocks and expect it to work 100%. EVEN A Boss EV-5.

Companies like Bespeco knock-out affordable but half-decent plastic units in a variety of different specifications- one of them is bound to suit yo' pedal, just find the facts first.

Thanks Doog.

I've just order a Korg Exp-2 as it seems to be the recommended model.
