Post by jallawalla »

Hi there,

just knocked something together before selling it. Poor playing, but some detailed shots etc.

I'm sure the radius on those is 7.25" and not 9.5 as stated in the video because they're just left over Jaguar necks. Nice video and good shots though. I previously owned a sonic blue model that was one of the last Vista Jagmasters made and it wasn't great but I own a white one currently and it's great. My friend owns 4 and they're also really good, maybe the bad blue one was just a one off..

Thanks for the positive comment George.

JD - Thanks for your positive comment too.

I just measured the radius. The guage I'm using there is a 7.5 inch one and there is a big gap in the middle.

Bullet truss ones were made later on in the lifecycle of the Vista Jagmaster. My old Excalibur was a bullet truss style.
I was 99% certain I've never seen them (Vistas) in any other fretboard radius than 7.25 though, I'll check mine when I get home as now I'm intrigued.

I have a vista neck and it is 7.25" and I have a version 3 (conversion) and it is 9.5". Must be a version 2 neck- the squier spec list that I posted in another thread says version 2 is either 21 or 22 frets, has a 9.5" radius and is 25" scale? What is the scale of the neck? never seen a bullet one.

The neck scale on his is 24". It still has the "Vista Series" logo on the headstock. They definitely, without a shadow of a doubt came with the bullet truss. Last six months to a year of the Vista Series, if my memory serves me correctly.

Here is a picture of my old Sonic blue with bullet truss

I did too but after doing some research back then, all seemed fine.

That sonic blue one I had played like shit though, my current bullet truss is lovely though. Also it's (the blue) the only terrible Vista Jagmaster I've played/owned. Go figure...
