Electro Harmonix Lumberjack

Post by Golden_Sonic »

East River Drive, Hot Tubes, GLOVE, Soul Food: the EH "Lumberjack" is the fifth overdrive released by the NY-brand in this last period, this time is a logarythmic overdrive...
Here's the demo:

OH GOD, I actually resisted posting my first reaction for fear that I get a bum obsessed rep....(but yeah too late innit).....SO:

Unfortunately 'Lumberjack' connotes 'having a shit', because my dad once said he was "going to do a Lumberjack"....I asked what that?....He say "I'm going to send some logs down the river" and went to the loo.

Based on this speculation I'm guessing it sounds... shit.

Thanks, thanks. I'm here all week. Years, in fact.

I watched that demo last night and didn't like it one bit. All sounded a bit shit to me.

Wow, EHX went from one of my favorite effects companies to wtf... A few years ago they were releasing innovative pedals like the HOG and now they're just doing a ton of different overdrives?

Whatever...

What about all those muffs, metal muffs, memory boys/toys, grails?

They've always been a bit excessive. I quite like the idea of cheap OCDs, klons and a red llama with a tone control.

It just sounds like a clean guitar with some kind of din going on in the background. What is the point?

The Soul Food is the Klon clone George, not this one.

Edit: oh, yes, what Benecol said.
