Thicknes of Mustang body

Post by sunshiner »

I've got a pretty dumb question, what is the thickness of Mustang body? Is Jaguar thicker than Mustang(not animals actually)?

According to the 1972 catalogue: 1972 catalogue

Mustang, Musicmaster, Bronco 1 1/2"
Jaguar 1 5/8"
Jazzmaster 1 3/4"

They may have varied, especially the older ones in the 1960s, and perhaps some of the newer variations.

I played a Squier hard tailpiece VM Jazzmaster, and it certainly did not look or feel like 1 3/4", but I didn't measure it.

But maybe not as much variation for the Mustangs as the others.

All Student model guitars such as Mustang, Duo-Sonic II, Musicmaster II, and Broncos are 1.5"

I was not aware that Jaguars were less than 1 3/4", but it would not surprise me.
