Yea that's pretty neat. I imagine guitarists will continue to be their cork sniffing future scared bunch and these will disappear in a few years due to nobody buying them. I hope I'm wrong though.

Yeah, it's not necessarily enough for the product to *work*; many guitarists are stuck in the "why change the tech that's worked just fine for fifty or sixty years?" mentality.
Theoretically, there's nothing wrong with these. Lace Sensors are a slightly different tech though, and they've been pretty popular over the years...admittedly, not successful enough to replace standard six-pole pups in Fenders, but still.

Kool. I bet you could diy something like this with stacked multilayer PCBs. It would't be cheap though.
It is the same sort or technology though. What happened to using lasers to sense string vibration? Or did I dream that?
