As people my have noticed George has become my guitar guru oc choice. George got a pointy headed Floyd rose guitar so did I, building a 12 string got George advice, and now George buts a Vintage V100gt and I've copied him again right down to the fact that it was a new guitar that arrived at my house damaged...
Got it on Wednesday... strangely I only took pics of the damage (as proof when asking for a refund) and none of the rather tasty looking frontage.

As the brief and dissapointed owner of a Rory Gallagher sig I should warn you they're gonna pull some shit like "that's what George's looked like" or "George was quite rough on his guitars". Fucking shameless.

Haha (at Paul_'s comment, not the fact you got a damaged guitar).
What is it with retailers shipping damaged Vintage guitars as new? Did it look like it was damaged in transit or that it was damaged before they packed it and shipped it?

There was a bash in the packaging but it was nowhere near the damage on the guitar, but I suppose it proves it was bashed about in transit. Guy from the place I bought it from assures me he packed and checked the guitar himself and there was definitely no damage on the guitar (which I believe as I've had nothing but good dealings with him). Sent picks of the guitar and packaging.
Who delivered it? Arselfarce are notorious for being careless - one package I got from them had big chunks taken out of the box...it looked like someone had tried to eat it.
If you can prove it was insufficiently packed, you might have some leverage over the seller. Otherwise, the courier's at fault (again, you'd have to find proof somehow).
Oh that was the other thing they delivered it to my neighbour and didn't even bother putting a card through my door to let me know it was there luckily I have good neighbours... had to apologise for not going through to pick it up, as they are quite old and not really up to humphing a big guitar box around.
They've just offered me a 25% refund as it was their last one and they are no longer stocking Vintage guitars (and in his own words he was 'glad to see the back of them'), or a full refund if I don't want the guitar.
My v100gt came pretty roughed up too, although not with a ding like that. i still kept mine because it has an amazing neck and the fretwork is some of the best i've seen on any off-the-shelf guitar, so instead of a replacement or refund i actually ended up scared to let it go. warts and all i absolutely love mine and am not going to part with it for the foreseeable, and i hope you're in the same (what i would call) lucky situation. if you have any misgivings, maybe it'd be worth getting rid.
one thing i will say is that i didn't get on with the stock wilkinson stacked p90s. very middy and dark. if you feel the same, whack a set of these in there!

very cheap and much closer to the p90 sound i hear in my head.
I'm OK with the pickups for the time being, they may get replaced in the future right now I'm considering putting the refund towards a bigsby... As for the chip a bit of mahogany stain and a touch of clear coat will sort that out.
