Dear god, no.

Talk about all other types of guitars. Jazzmasters and basses go here!

Dear god, no.

Whether or not you believe, please help.

Some of you may remember my "woohoo, let's build a golden bass"- thread from the projects and whatnot- section. Anyway. everything was truly golden, until..

I went to rehearsal and plugged it in. No sound. Best I could get out of it was a faint sound. The sound came on normally when I had it plugged into my Rat, but without it, no. nada. not a damn thing. I tried it with a guitar and it worked just fine.

To clarify, this is the problem:

Bass---->Amp=No sound/very quiet
Bass---->Rat----->Amp=Normal awesomeballsound.

What gives?

What are you plugging in to?
I had a bad solder joint on a pickup and as a result it would give decent output into high impedance and the signal would practically disappear into a low impedance (e.g. HH solid state). The RAT appears to have 500K input impedance (1M||1M) which is reasonably high.

Cheers, Shortscale (Well, NickS & Speedfish). It just so happened to work and now I have 100% operating bass on my hands.

I even went as far to bitch about it to Seymour Duncan. I unleashed so much fury (politeness) at them that they'll know better the next time.
