Got my eye on this thing, when they get them back in stock. It SOUNDS appealing on paper but so do all their products if you take the descriptions at face value. So anyone here ever buy one?

Dude me too. I looked in to them on other forums though and they seem to be a hit and miss. Some of them have wrongly routed neck pockets where they are too thin for the neck to intonate properly. Also I saw this exact body and it didn't look the color on the picture but very gray and dark. Just not surf green at all. But.. like I said they are hit and miss. But, Viljami just got a nice gold bass body from gfs that was good. At the price, if you can afford it I would take the gamble!

I had a feeling that's what the color was more like. Also hoping. I really actually like that color for what I want way better than actual surf green.

I'm buy this anyway. (unless someone chimes in with some firsthand bad experiences before they get them back in stock)

I'm reckoning that the solid colours will be better than my goldflake (you can see where they cut corners to make it cheap close up because of its transparency), so why not. It really is incredibly cheap. One thing to note is that GFS is not bullshitting about paulownia being very light. My p-bass body which is a handsome chunk of wood feels really light, almost like balsa. Can't say much about the hardness of the wood, since I've yet to drop the sucker. More on that when it happens.. The finish is also very thin and will break rather easily, but if you're not going to abuse the body I can't see why it would be a problem. Battle scars and everything.

But yeah, go and get that sucker! And post pics when you do get it!

PS. Has anyone recently tried those Tele- necks from GFS? Esp. the vint-tint-ones?

I used the exact same body without binding for my aluminium Telecaster project a years ago. The surf green colour is true to the photo. Hard to tell now because it's covered in metal, but the quality seemed fine, and is incredibly lightweight. I think I got it for $29.
