Got a beat '69/'72 Jazzmaster yesterday.

Finally traded my Maverick. I'm torn up about it, but the JM is more versatile. The Maverick was the coolest guitar I've owned, but I never bonded with it musically the way I have with Jazzmasters.

I traded it to Pacafeliz for one of his JMs. Actually, part of two of his JMs. He had a '69 that had a humbucker installed and a '72 that had its fretboard removed. He traded me the unmolested '69 neck(with the super rare factory Grovers like some Coronados got) and the original, stock '72 body. Still getting the setup ironed out, but I can already tell it's a good one.

What a trade! That Jazzy is gorgeous, and at least the Maverick stayed in the family.

glad it made it there quick and safe!

there's lots of history to this guitar, but i'll bore you with it later. (SO hung over now...)

sure hope the mav will arrive here soon, too!

enjoy 'er!

Mustang bridge isn't stock though, is it?

Nope, forgot to mention that Pat replaced the original with a vintage Mustang bridge. I'm actually glad, as I prefer the Mustang saddles.

Thanks, by the way. There's just something I love about a beat to shit old Jag or JM.

Gorgeousness.

What's with that button/slider next to the bridge, near to the control knobs? Some retrofitted pickup/tone selector?

HA! it's not a switch, it's a little sticker of a hamburger (my daughter put it there!) :D

Hehe, gave me proper lolz.

And the ace guitar is ace.

Simply charming!

The way the yellow has faded a bit to something akin to a honeyburst really tops it off for me.

Speaking as someone who doesn't normally like sunburst - that is beautiful.

I'm starting to think all old guitars should spend a few years being owned by Pat. All of his guitars have great character.

Beautiful Jazzy and quite the epic trade, I'd say favorable on both sides. It really sounds like it was time to let go of the Maverick, no sense in hoarding rare things if they don't bring you happiness.

Good luck with it (both of you)

Great score! This is exactly the kind of beat up, partscaster vintage jazzer i've been looking for myself, so i am jealous! Enjoy it!
